International Seminar on Consumer litigation in Japan, the U.S., and China ~Class-Action and Cross-Border lawsuits~
Consumer litigation has long been one of the hottest topics in law. In Japan, it is even more so now, as a new law regarding consumer class-action litigation is being discussed. With regard to China, laws regarding consumer protection and product liability have been discussed and introduced, which is gathering great attention from the world. Needless to say, the U.S. has a long history of developing legal systems and practices regarding consumer litigation.
This seminar will be held jointly by the Japan Federation of Bar Associations (the JFBA) and the American Bar Association (the ABA). This seminar invites legal experts from these three countries as speakers, and focuses on recent trends and issues in class-action consumer lawsuits and cross-border consumer litigation in their respective countries. It also aims to analyze how each country's trends and discussions relate to one another.
