Seminar on Legal Technical Assistance "International Legal Assistance Programs of the World Bank and their future"

The international legal assistance projects by the Japan Federation of Bar Associations have a history of more than 15 years, providing assistance for numerous countries such as China, Mongolia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and they have accepted lawyers from other countries for the training programs they have organized. While expanding their range of legal assistance, it is essential for effective assistance to analyze other international institutions' projects, and exchange ideas and information.
On this occasion, the Japan Federation of Bar Associations invites Mr. Ko-Yung Tung, who played a central role from 1999 to 2003 as a Vice President and General Counsel of the World Bank (the international development organization with more than 180 member countries) in promotion of the rule of law, such as encouraging good governance and eliminating corruption in developing countries, and is holding a seminar about international legal assistance by the World Bank. A panel discussion with Prof. Hiroshi Matsuo (Keio University), a leading Japanese scholar in the field, will follow, to discuss issues such as "On What kinds of issues does the World Bank place the highest priority?" and "How does the World Bank run each project?"
Please do not miss this valuable opportunity to hear experts discuss global trends and the future overview of international legal assistance projects.
