The JFBA Central Board on Promotion of Judicial Reform has
been set up to share information on the overall and regional
situation of the judicial reform and to enhance countrywide
activities for operating the new system established by the
ongoing judicial reform and continually working on the remaining
issues. Its first meeting is scheduled on October 13, and
at the same day, the JFBA Central Board on Judicial Reform
will be abolished.
The Central Board is composed of JFBA President, some
of its vice presidents, and other members appointed by
each bar association, federation of bar associations,
and related committee.
The ongoing judicial reform is moving toward its new
phase, that is, implementation of the new judicial system.
In order to respond the new system, the JFBA has set up
new committees this year, including the Central Board
on Promotion of Judge System Reform and Regional Justice
Planning, the Central Board on Saiban-In System, the Central
Board on Justice Support Center of Japan, the Committee
on Administrative Litigation (renamed), and the Committee
on Family Law Legislation.
Besides the above specified new committees, the Central
Board on Practicing Attorney System Reform, the Committee
on Law school, the Central Board on Attorney Fee Shifting,
the Committee on Promotion of Judge Appointment from Attorneys,
the Committee on ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution),
the Committee on Civil Procedure, the Committee on Labor
Law Legislation, and the Committee on Laws Concerning
Acceleration of Trials are actively working for the revised
judicial system.
